Base Work

Step One:

Set up transit level to set grade and insure proper drainage. This includes hand digging all edges for an attractive end result. Hallman Asphalt will alert you if drainage does not meet our specifications. For excavation work, all dirt will be hauled away unless otherwise requested.

Step Two:

With new driveways we put in a eight to ten inch base. The first three to five inches is 3 inch breaker rock to build up a proper base.

Step Three:

Base materials is trucked in and placed. We then grade the surface for the correct drainage. The base is then compacted with a vibrator for proper compaction.

Step Four:

This base must then set for two to six weeks before paving. (Compaction is very important.)
